Plastic in the oceans: the Juventus football club helps with its disposal

The Italian champion team takes to the field against marine pollution, choosing to make its third shirt with plastic collected from the oceans and recycled

Did you know that in 2050 the weight of plastic in the seas could be greater than that of fish? It is precisely for this reason that, in addition to the European regulations put in place to nip the problem in the bud and ban the production of single-use plastic, organizations and collaborations that deal with disposing of the plastic already present in the seas and oceans are increasingly taking hold. It is to this end that the collaboration was born between the sports giant Adidas and the NGO Parley for the Oceans , which after creating the first "green" products also brought this idea to professional sport.

This initiative, in Italy, was supported by the Juventus football club which, for the third kit in the 2018/19 season, adopted kits made with plastic collected from the oceans. The project, innovative and absolutely cutting-edge, has also been continued for the next 2019/20 season. The pre-match jerseys will also be made using the same process.

A great step forward and an extraordinary strong point, as well as a source of pride, for the entire nation. To those who say that Italy is still far behind when it comes to waste disposal and a more "green" perspective, perhaps they should take a step back and believe in this immense and still extraordinary land.

As stated by the Turin club " Together we can drive change " and it is precisely with these new shirts that the Juventus club is ready to take to the pitch to win the most important game: that of safeguarding the planet. We with them, because it is only together that we can truly drive change. A step at a time. Even small.
